Pre-Requisite Download from Web
Hi All,
I am using IS2009. I am presently working on one project which requires dependent component to be install from a URL site(URL will be given by the Company). Is it possible using IS or any other possbile ways to do it.
Any think like all major software gaints do.
Thanks & Regards
Girish Katti

If I understand your requirement correctly, you can use the Prerequisite Editor to create a new prerequisite and specify a download URL for each of its files. This will handle downloads for you (just make sure to select the appropriate location on the prerequisite properties and/or on the Setup.exe tab of the releases view).

Thanks for your Response,
I dont want to include any of my pre-requsite as part of my install.
To explain in brief,
I have 3 component to be installed using InstallScripts. All 3 components come around 1.5GB of size. So we have decided to have the 2 components in an URL link. Will have a Custom Dialog where user will be asked to accept the 2 component to be installed. Once selected the installer should start installation by seeking the exe from the URL location.
If I could get any specific example how to implement this It would be a great help.
Thanks & Regards
