I've created a merge module for a feature that needs to be included in our server installation, but that some users would also like to install on it's own. The stand-alone install has nothing but the merge module and our license agreement, and works perfectly. The server install has the merge module, and a number of tools related to our documentation... but when I run it the files in the merge module never get installed.
I'll be happy to provide any info about my projects that will help to diagnose this, but I don't have a clue what I should be looking for. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
First thing you may want to try is to look at the server install with a tool like Microsoft's Orca to ensure that the merge module files are included as you expect. Second thing would be to run the server install with logging to see if the log file shows why the files are not being installed.
