Hi, we were looking to upgrade to Installshield 2012 for a project we worked on for the past few years. the previous installers were made using InstallShield Dev Studio 9.
Will an installer made with Installshield 2012 be able to update an installation made with Studio 9 easily?
Please see the help topics under Getting Started > Upgrading from Earlier InstallShield Versions for information about updating a project. How an upgraded project upgrades an existing installation depends on the project type (Basic MSI? InstallScript? InstallScript MSI?), but yes, it generally can be done.
