We are currently evaluating installshield '09(and I am new to this installer business 😉 and we are ALMOST THERE. Our only other need is to install an application, then change to a different user to run a setup portion of the application we just installed prior to finishing the install. I am guessing we might run a separate executable to perform this, but is there a way (from running the installer from an admin account) to run this executable in the same way one can launch an application by shift+right mouse click -> "Run as..." and then holding out until that application returns?
Can that external application write to the installer.log?
This is all done due to security restrictions on the server and the way modules on it need to run.
