Installing a service with ISLE 2013 & VS 2013 Update 2
Hi there,
I'm trying to install a service I've created and the install works successfully but the service is never registered. If I manually register it then it works fine.
I've attached the install log & the sample project that shows the problem.
I'm sure it is something in the project that I haven't set correctly so any guidance appreciated.
Thanks,
TonyG

I am not sure what the issue is, I just downloaded the project you had there and built and installed it. The service was installed, registered and started. The test machine was a Windows 8.1 64 bit machine.

Interesting - I'm using Win 8.1 64-bit as well.
What did the service end up registering as? Maybe I'm expecting a different name and just not noticing it.

it registered as CppWindowsService.
do you have administrator rights on your machine? registering and starting services usually requires Elevated privileges.

Thanks - Yes I have admin rights and I've tried launching the installer both normally and elevated - I'm really at a loss as to what is going on.
