I have a legacy Object which I wish to use in a IS2008 (v14 Premier Edition) Install Script project. The object is build using v7.
The object was previously used in a v11.5 project and remains installed, and registered to this project.
I have not been able to add the object into the v14 project.
With some messing about with the registry, I have been able to make the Object apear in the list of Objects, however when I attempt to add the Object into the project, the message "The Object 'objname' could not be installed, you may need to reinstall the object in order to use it."
I copied the relevant entry from HKLM\SOFTWARE\InstallShield\InstallShield Proffessional\7.0\Objects\ to HKLM\SOFTWARE\InstallShield\14.0\Objects\Pro\
Since I have tried installing/removing and re-installing the object and not have it appear registered at all, could anybody advice on how to manually configure the registry or some other solution to the problem...
There is something different about the objects from InstallShield 12.0 and on. I had to rebuild my custom objects using IS 12.0, and then again in 2008, to get them to work in the corresponding IDE.
