Installer 4.5 will not install, please help?

Hi,

Our software requires Windows Installer 4.5 to be installed, so I have this selected on the redistributables. The builder location I have selected is 'Extract from Setup.exe'.
On building the installation file it appears to add this onto the setup.exe but when installed it does not install it.

I have checked the version number of the current msi.dll and its 4.0.6, so why will it not install?

I am using Vista and the Installer 4.5 version I have selected is the Installer 4.5 for Vista.

Hi,

i have selected all three Windows Installer 4.5 prerequisites for my setup and they install just fine on the appropriate systems.

Could you try to include all three prerequisistes and install on a windows xp box? Does it work there?

In order for MSI 4.5 to be correctly on Vista and newer platforms, a reboot is required after the redistributable is installed. Did you check the version of msi.dll before or after rebooting?
