InstallShield Standalone Build SP1 fails to install/uninstall/work at all
I'm trying to install InstallShield Standalone Build SP1 setup on our build machine.
I had the previous standalone build on this machine, and it told me I needed to uninstall it first. So I tried doing that and it produced "internal error 27519" that would not go away until I used task manager to kill msiexec and ISDM.exe
After this InstallShield Standalone 2010 has been removed from Add/Remove Programs, and yet its still brings up an error dialog when I try to install the Standalone SP1 setup - now it produces "Another version of this product is already installed. Installation of this version cannot continue."
How can I actually get this software installed correctly now?
Why is this so hard from a company that develops Installer software?
Appreciate any response.

You might want to try using the Microsoft Windows Installer Cleanup Utility to try to cleanup the old install. Here is a link to a download site: http://download.cnet.com/Microsoft-Windows-Installer-Cleanup-Utility/3000-18512_4-205179.html
I hope this helps.
