InstallShield LE 2015 for VS2013 - Dynamic file linking
Hi
I didn't found the dynamic file linking option in IS 2015 LE, I saw that we can add Visual Studio projects output files dynamically to the Install Shield Setup for assemblies or executable. But If I want add .ico or help files to the setup I didn't find dynamic file linking option. Please help me resolving the issue.
InstallShield Limited Edition does not include support for the dynamic file linking. You may want to consider upgrading to the Express, Professional, or Premier edition of InstallShield.
I would rarely ever recommend dynamic file linking to anyone. Microsoft does not support it so it is purely an add-on extension written by Flexera Software.
If you use Dynamic File Linking you will lose some of the fundamental capabilities of MSI and in-place updates of the software becomes much less predictable as to what will happen. In a nutshell you will lose virtually ALL control over the upgrade process.
