Install to COMMON_DOCUMENTS
IS2008, Basci MSI Project:
My problem is:
I use a Installscript to retrieve the path of the common documents C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Documents. With MsiSetProperty I set the value to the public property COMMON_DOCUMENTS.
If the target is set to the property [COMMON_DOCUMENTS] directly the files will be installed correctly. But if I install to [COMMON_DOCUMENTS]\test the files will be installed to C:\COMMON_DOCUMENTS\test even though the property has the right value.
What do I miss? Any help is appreciated.
Thx in advance,
Heike

is COMMON_DOCUMENTS in your directory table? Not just a property, but I think directories need to actually be in the Directory table to be used as where components are installed to.

yes
Directory: COMMON_DOCUMENTS
Directory_Parent: TARGETDIR
Do I have to enter anything else?
