I'm building from scratch new installer for a product for different target platform. The original installer creates some registry keys and values, so instead of entering them manually I came up with idea of exporting them from the old InstallScript project (converted to IS2010) to .reg file and then importing them to new one Basic MSI project (also in IS 2010). Among the values to copy are few binary values storing strings (Windows requirement as far as I know). After exporting and importing, instead of seeing the original data (paths) I got a bunch of Chinese characters showing on the screen. So clearly you have something wrong there... or am I missing something?
