IIS Virtual Directory Network Directory
Hi,
I'm using a Basic MSI project in Installshield 2008 Professional.
I'm creating a virtual directory that is set to point to 'A share located on another computer', so I'm trying to set the 'Network Directory' to something like [DAVEPROPERTY] with the intention of this value being used when the website is created. The property is a session property which I populate when the MSI starts. However, its not actually creating the site and will only create it when I enter a propert share path such as \\myserver\myshare.
I can use the same principle elsewhere in IIS such as setting the port number for the site. Does anyone know of a way round this?
I've attached a screenshot showing what I mean.

The target physical path for a website or virtual directory should not affect whether the item gets created at runtime or not (the path is set as a property on the item created in IIS). For websites, they will only be created if you are installing the site to a port or site number that does not already exist on the target machine.
