How to Unregistrater the dlls in the install script project Registered.
Hi,
I need to register some dlls in my install script project. so i have registered them in the setup design view as these dlls are components to my project.
I have set the "Self Registration" property to true at design time in the IDE of the project.
Installation of the product is all fine. Dlls are registered and worked fine.
But during uninstallation of the product i see the error
Self-Registration Error
The following files did not register or unregistrer itself.
1. C:\windows\system32\xxxxx.dll
(File name with full path to system32 directory.)
and so................
even though after reading many threads i have set the sequencing of the components. i am not able to get rid of that error mesage.
how to unregister the registered dll before windows installer deletes the file.
pls let me know.
Thankyou

I am running into the same problem. When I am getting an unregistration problem becuase the dependancies are not there, (the installation has removed them.) If I change the order of the features to resolve this, then the registration fails. What event happens immediatly after selecting to remove from the maintenance dialog so that I can manually unregister the file before IS removes the dependancies.
