installutil.exe /u [ASSEMBLYNAME] should remove the assembly from GAC.
this installutil.exe can be found in C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727 folder.

gacutil.exe /u [Assembly_display_name]
from the Visual Studio 2005/2008 SDK.
