Fault installing on Win 7 64bit on 64bit hw.
Hi,
I have an MSI that runs fine on 32bit Windows 7 and seems to work fine when running with WoW64.
I have a customer that has downloaded and installed the application and is getting the following on Win 7 64bit with 64 bit hardware:
Description:
Stopped working
Problem signature:
Problem Event Name: APPCRASH
Application Name: ChangeAide.exe
Application Version: 3.1.40.0
Application Timestamp: 4d209f95
Fault Module Name: KERNELBASE.dll
Fault Module Version: 6.1.7600.16385
Fault Module Timestamp: 4a5bdbdf
Exception Code: e053534f
Exception Offset: 0000b727
OS Version: 6.1.7600.2.0.0.768.3
Locale ID: 2057
I'm using the express version to build a 32bit MSI. I am expecting that this 32bit version will be recognized as a 32bit version on a 64bit OS and install correctly.
Is this a correct assumption or is the professional version actually required?
NOTE: VB with VS 2005 along with a number of components from different vendors not checked for 64bit compatible versions.
Any thoughts or help appreciated!!
Regards, Bruce
