Fatal Error -5010: Internal build error
I am running the trial for IS2010 on a WinXP virtual machine using VMWare Fusion on a Mac Book Pro and receiving the 5010 error during build.
Any Ideas?
I have attached a screen shot.
thanks in advance,
Owen

Is the OS short filename support disabled?
Does your product name or any of your file links contain unicode characters?
Is your main release location really called '_Release Folder'?
Does it make a difference if you enable/disable the 'Build UTF-8 database' release option?
Does building an uncompressed release work?
Do you get this error when you create a new project?

Not sure how to disable OS short filename.
Dont see any unicode characters.
I can build an uncompressed release but of course I need it compressed.
My release location is called _Release Folder and it has worked in the past for IS2009 on a non Virtual machine install.
Changing Build UTF-8 database options doesn't help.

Check to see if this builds on a real machine then on a VMWare running on a PC.

I can get it to build successfully on a "real machine" but not as a compressed release using a VM.

Do you get the same error if you create a new project, add some files and then build a compressed release?

Any other things to try? I could attach my project if that would help.
