Creating registry keys during an install.
Hello,
I am using InstallShield 2009 Professional edition.
I need to create a registry key under HKLM. I have decided to use the registry view in InstallShield IDE. I have read earlier that it is not a good practice to associate multiple files to a single component.
Similarly, i would like to know if such a thing holds good even for registry keys?
I already have a registry component which creates registry keys.
So should i associate my new registry key with the existing component or use an entirely new component for this registry key?
What is the best practice for creating registry keys?
Any feedback would be very much appreciated.
Regards,
Kiran Hegde

Are the registry keys connected to a file you like to install? If yes I would connect the registry keys to the component which installs this file.
