Create service not installed by package
hi folks, first off, doing this by custom action is not what i want to do.
Can i use the service tables to create and start a service that was installed by another package?
for example c:\test\test.exe is installed by pkgA.
Can i create and start test.exe (passing it a parameter\username\password) within the tables in pkgB?
so far i am not having any joy with Installshield 14! It seems that you need to have the exe in your pkg to create a service!
any help would be great

Just create a component "StartServiceCreatedBySomebodyelse".
en use the service control in "Advanced" to start te present service.
