Compressing existing, uncompressed MSI package

I received an uncompressed MSI package, but to use it I really need a compressed MSI package (i.e., single .msi file). I haven't found a way in either InstallShield or AdminStudio where I can import a full installer and files and generate a new installer. Is there any way to do this?

Thanks,

David

(p.s. no, I do not have access to the original project file or build environment.)

Hi, David,

In InstallShield, maybe try File > Open and select Open As: Wizard in the file-browse dialog. That should convert the MSI you select into an InstallShield project, and you can change build configurations and the rest from there.

Cheers,

Robert

Robert,

Thanks! You always seem to know that extra 50%.

The Open-As Wizard option yields lots of _Validation table errors, but that doesn't seem to be a problem, and gets me to where I can tweak the InstallShield project to get what I need.

Thanks again,

David
