Chained MSI, assembly registration
I have 3 Installations:
A. the boot strapper that takes care of Prerequisites and if it is a server or a client installation, this installation contains B. and C., which are Chained MSI Packages.
B. client installation, containing files to be installed in the program files folder, AND THE ASSEMBLIES ARE REGISTRED IN THE REGISTRY.
C. server installation, containin files to be installed on the server.
When A. is started and allmost done B. is started, the files are installed perfectly, the assemblies are registred perfectly. Then C. is started, this is allso installed perfectly. Then A. finishes off and all the assembly registrations are GONE.
A line appears in the MSI log, looking like this.
MSI (c) (24:2C) [12:27:52:728]: Failed to grab execution mutex. System error 258.
Why
I would have attached the log, but it is too big!!
Regards
