64 Bit COM extraction

Hi all,

Apparently, InstallShield 2010 now supports 64-bit COM extraction.

However, this doesn't seem to work for me. My components are marked as 64-Bit and "COM Extract at Build" is set to "Yes". However, the COM dlls are not registered after installation.

Any ideas?

Is your InstallShield 2010 installed on a 64-Bit platform ?

You can only extract com-registry data from a 64-Bit dll, if your InstallShield 2010 is installed on a 64-Bit platform/operating system.

You asked if IS 2010 is installed on 64-bit platform, and it is.

Hi

Did anyone get to the bottom of this issue as I am having similar problems. Only some of the registry data is extracted either at build or from using the "Extract COM data for Key file" option.

Also, using the self-register option causes the setup to fail.
