why was uninstall folder created automatically
Hi,
I create one project and add a find componet action and show message dialog on the toppest of the pre-install task.
There only one button 'Exit' on the message dialog.
after extracting, the dialog show, click 'Exit', the installer exit.
but i find the installer create a uninstall folder under C:\program files\My_product\uninstall\Uninstall_My_product
why does it create this folder when i click exit to exit the installer.
this is not expect.
can anyone help me?
thanks!

Can your installer be downloaded from somewhere? I would like to give it a try.

So what exactly happened, as I didn't quite get it: did the installation finish or not?

i do a test again.
may be only when i add a plug-in this problem exists.
the plug-in uses the API com.zerog.ia.api.pub.registry
😞
strange!

Hi Vlad,
thanks for your reply.
i think both of the two issues i brought out are caused by the API com.zerog.ia.api.pub.registry provided by IA 2009.
1. if we use plug-in which calls the API, the uninstall folder will be created even if you exit the installer at the beginning
2. if you use the API to search from the global registry file, it will search /var first, if there is not the file or the user has not the permission to write the file, it will search the user home dir. This behavior is different from the Find componet action.
the two issues will block me.
i hope someone can help me.
