when i add a rule to an application server to check ,then it gets stuck
hi ,
i am installing an application server and i want to achieve this thing:
that i should install the application server(say jboss) only when the (say)$USER_INPUT_RESULT_6$ equals 1 that is the radio button or something is selected.
But when i add this rule on the application folder in the install task ,the installa tinon is getting slow and getting stuck,
how do i overcome it.
Does installation gets stuck when i add a rule to a folder in the install task but my problem is that the same approach is working for folders of small size but it does not happen in case of application server

Why don't you use features for this?

hi,
Right now i am using the add rule on application server folder in the install task ,
I am unable to understand you are talking of which feature.
And one more thing can i detect by some means if a machine contains jboss and of my required version say 4.2.0.GA

James

What I am suggesting is that you should use the build-in features to achive this; i.e. the user selects the feature if he wants to get it installed. No need to use a panel and a rule for this!
