Will Install Anywhere 2017 support Java 11?

Currently, we are running licensed Install Anywhere 2017 with jre 8 . Now we are planning to upgrade from Java 8 to Java 11. 1. Does Install Anywhere 2017 supports Java 11? 2. If not, what is the compatible version of Install Anywhere for java 11 If upgradation is required from Install Anywhere 2017 to a compatible version, Can you guide us?

Thank you for your post.

InstallAnywhere 2017 does not support Java 11. For support for Java 11, you would need to upgrade to InstallAnywhere 2018 SP1 (only SP1 for InstallAnywhere 2018 supports Oracle Java 11 and OpenJDK 11).

To find out more information about upgrading to InstallAnywhere 2018 SP1, please follow these steps:

  1. Navigate here: https://www.flexerasoftware.com/about-us/contact-us.html
  2. Select the Speak with a product specialist dropdown menu option.

Before proceeding to the steps of upgrading Install AnyWhere 2017 to 2018 SP1, I have one query to clarify. 

1. Currently, we are using Install AnyWhere 2017, whose end of License(EOL) is 11th May 2019.

2. Because of the non-supporting capabilities of  JAVA 11 on Install AnyWhere 2017, We are planning to upgrade it to Install AnyWhere 2018 SP1.

3. Do we have to renew the license(as EOL of Install AnyWhere 2017 is 11th May 2019) or have to buy a new one to support Install AnyWhere 2018 SP1?

Thank you for your reply.

I checked with an Account Manager, who handles InstallAnywhere, and they confirmed that, as long as you have InstallAnywhere 2017, which you said you do, if you had an active, unexpired support contract (maintenance plan) when InstallAnywhere 2018 was released and still have an active, unexpired support contract (maintenance plan), you would be entitled to a free upgrade; if you do not have an active, unexpired support contract (maintenance plan), you would be entitled to a paid upgrade.
