Upgrade in Install Anywhere 2011
Hi,
I have developed an installer for our application version1.0 in IA 2009, now we have to provide an installer fro our next release 2.0 which supports fresh installation and upgrade from 1.0. Is this possible in install Anywhere 2011.
We upgraded from IA 2009 to IA 2011.
Thanks
Sravan.

Would it be possible to post your project? I guess that an update installer might be different on what's in your project and your requirements.

HI,
I got it. I added a upgrade Install set and added a rule to check for the earlier version.
If earlier version is there i am showing the upgrade option in the Install set dialog.
Also i added a rule for Typical and Custom, if there is no earlier version is there I am showing Typical and custom.
Thanks,
Sravan.

Hi Sravan,
Could you please explain how you achieved the following?
1. How to check for the earlier version.
2. What rule you added for this (Typical and Custom, if there is no earlier version is there I am showing Typical and custom).
3. Have you enabled Maintenance mode / Instance management?
Thanks in advance.
