Update service cannot be found

This just started happening over the weekend, and it affects all versions of IA from 2014 forward, the get stuck Looking up the update service. Is there any way to turn off looking for it all together? This is getting in the way of getting work done. What port is it trying to go out when it is looking. It times out after a very long time, here is the exception:

This is kind of urgent, can someone tell me what port the update service looks uses to get its information?
Our IT department closes off ports they think are not needed for security purposes, I need to get them to turn it back on, or failing that, how can I disable the looking up of the update service? I need an answer if I can get it pronto.

Thanks in advance!

Can you ask your IT team to enable network connectivity to

Hi,
One of the IT people tried to connect to that and got an error, is the server having a problem?

He said:

Hey Greg,
I get this message when trying to connect to that website:

Notification Server Error
Error occurred while accessing site.

I even get that when I try from my phone outside the company. Is their website having an issue? Can Flexera confirm?

Any ideas?
Thanks.

I got from another person within the company a way to keep it from looking for updates: -nupd

It seems to work. Good for now, but I would prefer it worked.

Hi;

This is the closest thing I found in Flexera's "Knowledge Base", about the Install Anywhere Update Service. It's date October 2017. Rather fresh.

https://flexeracommunity.force.com/customer/articles/en_US/ISSUE/Q213773

It is not exactly the same stack trace, but "A feature request to disable this profile collection has been submitted to our Development team..." IOA-000079087

Meanwhile, the builds continue, with an ugly error at the start.

Sigh.

You can disable profile data upload (contrary to what was said in previous link posted):

IALocation="${ia.dir}"
IAProjectFile="timesten.iap_xml"
BuildWorkdirLocation="build"
failOnError="true"
doNotUploadProfileData="true"/>

This will disable the connection attempt to the server and should avoid the error.
