Java package installer
Hi,
I am trying to find an installation tool which can satisfy these requirements:
1) install on Windows the following pieces: JavaVM, Java app server (Weblogic or Jetty), Java Web App,
(potentially a DB and a bunch of DLLs, but maybe in a separate installation);
2) should be integratable with ANT, we do builds in Unix (Solaris) environment;
3) nice if we can build an image file of installation (maybe on CD, so we can ship it to remote location),
can be EXE or MSI as well,
4) better if it can be done either as part of some ANT script or by request from the web (include this and that component in the image file);
5) support command line (scripting) and/or have some GUI part.
We were looking at InstallAnywhere, AdminStudio, InstallShield, WIX, WISE, IZPack, Install4J.
Which of them will fit our requirements? Any preferences ?
TIA,
Oleg.

AFAIK InstallShield and Wise are out of the picture as they're Windows only. But I'm not sure if you're going to get the answer you're looking for, as you've posted your question in the InstallAnywhere section, so I reckon that this forum's users are somewhat biased, aren't they? 😄
