Is it feasible to override/hide Installer Panel ?

Hi All,
Is it feasible to override/hide the installer panel which comes on the left hand side in the installer? My requirement is to customize the entire UI including left panel and write my own code as per my design.
By default this left panel shows the installation steps like Introduction, License Agreement, Choose Destination Directory, Pre-Installation Summary ...

In the InstallerUI/L&F/General UI Settings tab, you can put a background image then disable all checkboxes in the Installer step tab.

Thanks a lot Jerome. The installer steps are not shown by following your steps. Now if I overwrite the right hand panel with my Custom Code, can I use the screen? I mean to say, right hand panel will get extended towards left and fill that gap?

We'd like an answer to this question as well. Can the installer steps/progress panel be removed so that the installer panel can use the whole width of the window?
