InstallAnywhere Extract Issue
Hi,
We are using InstallAnywhere 2008 VP1.
For some of the installers (in Windows server 2008 only) we are facing an extract issue i.e. the installer first extracts completely, once it reaches 100%, the installer prompts us to choose a different location.
The same installer is working fine in a non Windows server 2008 machine.
Please let us know if anyone has come across this issue and how this could be solved.
TIA,
Subha

Hello! The only occurrence of this issue I'm aware of is when your installer got corrupted during transfer (so for it the size of the bundled .zip archive the installer thinks it has it is not able to find the available disk space).

If the installer is corrupted, how can it install fine in other environment?

Are you sure it's the exact same size? Have you done an md5 sum check on both installers? Otherwise, how big is your installer? If it's really big, you should know that it needs at least 3 times its size in free disk space in order to proceed to install.

There is enough space in the drive where we are trying to install.
This is happening only in Windows Server 2008 environment. This is not happening in Windows XP. Also the size of the installer which is copied to both the environment is the same.
We are wondering how the same installer works fine in XP environment and not in Windows Server 2008 environment.
Also this issue is not coming in all the installers we are building.

Hi,
As Vlad suggested, this has nothing to do with the environment. It happens only when your BINARY/ZIP file got corrupted while copying to the Installation environment.
Thanks,
Tumati
