Execute third party msi installer from inside IA installer
Hi all,
can somebody told me, what is the best way to run a third party msi installer from inside my own IA installer.
I have tried to pack it in my installer and at least I see that it was gone somwhere in the Execute.zip, but I found no way to execute it during installation from that point.
Til now it is located somewhere under the $LAUNCH_DIR$, but at least I want that this msi installer is also in my packed setup.
regards
Kreddel

I think the trick is to install it to some place (like $TMP_DIR$) and then you've got at least the option of Execute Target.

Thx for the fast answer. If I do it in this way and delete the temporary folder afterwards, didn't I get problems with the uninstaller?

You can set the "Do not uninstall" parameter onto the installed .msi and the uninstaller won't attempt to uninstall it.

I tried it exactly with this attributes and it worked!!! 😄 😄 😄
Do you think it should also work with the DO_NOT_INSTALL folder, in some way, my first try failed, but perhaps there is some special ordering neccessary?
best regards
