Best practices for upgrade/patching mechanisms
Hi All,
Does anybody know about how to support upgrade/patching mechanism of my product using IA in production environments? Is there any help or documentation on this?
Thanks
Sandeep

i personally overcome the shortcomings of IA when updating by having a simple detection of a previous installation (eg check registry key)
If a previous installation detected it then retrieves installation directory in my case from the registry again and locates the installvariables.properties to get what is needed and then displays a difference set of components at install sets than what a new installation displays(eg update installation instead of new installation) and then in the install it will just update the needed files included under the update component
