Add variables to installer.properties

Is there a possibility to enter custom variables to the installer.properties file, when it is automatically generated?

The installer asks the user which install set should be installed. But that choice does not appear in the automatically generated .properties file. When I manually add the lines:
CHOSEN_INSTALL_SET=Light
CHOSEN_INSTALL_FEATURE_LIST=UPSMan,UPSMon,Help

then the correct files are installed in silent mode.

In addition to that problem I have some custom code actions and would like to add their custom variables to the replay file too.

I just noticed that I forgot to mention which versioin I am using. It is IA 8.0.1 Enterprise. Thank you for helping.
