A InstallAnyWhere project fails to launch with Fatal Application Error
Hi,
Till yesterday, I am able to use InstallAnyWhere 2010 successfully without any problems. But I am getting a wiard exception when I try to launch the same InstallAnyWhere projects (.iap_xml file) now.
It opens up a Fatal Application Error dialog attached.
The details buttons has shows the follows me the following:
isus.UpdateServiceException: org.xml.sax.SAXParseException: Character reference "" is an invalid XML character.
at isus.XMLWrapper.(Unknown Source)
at isus.ProfileManager.(Unknown Source)
at isus.AgentEx.profileSetValue(Unknown Source)
at isus.Agent.profileSetValue(Unknown Source)
at com.zerog.ia.designer.update.UpdateFacade.a(DashoA10*..)
at InstallAnywhere.main(DashoA10*..)
at sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke0(Native Method)
at sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke(Unknown Source)
at sun.reflect.DelegatingMethodAccessorImpl.invoke(Unknown Source)
at java.lang.reflect.Method.invoke(Unknown Source)
at com.zerog.lax.LAX.launch(DashoA10*..)
at com.zerog.lax.LAX.main(DashoA10*..)
Caused by: org.xml.sax.SAXParseException: Character reference "" is an invalid XML character.
at com.sun.org.apache.xerces.internal.parsers.DOMParser.parse(Unknown Source)
at com.sun.org.apache.xerces.internal.jaxp.DocumentBuilderImpl.parse(Unknown Source)
at javax.xml.parsers.DocumentBuilder.parse(Unknown Source)
... 12 more
Well, I though may be the abc.iap_xml document has wrong letter in it, so I tried to open other xyz.iap_xml in vain.
Ok, I have uninstalled the InstallAnyWhere 2010 and installed it again, surprising only for the first time I am able to open up application. If close it and try opening it again gives me same above error.
Please guys, somebody help me.

Have you by any chance edited your project with anything else besides IA Advanced Designer? Like a text editor or something? Also have you searched your project for the offending string: ?

Yes, I am able to open it with a browser without any problem.
I doubted that I might have entered wrong charecter and saved it, and reverted the chages back to the older. So it should get open.
I have seen previously opened project names under InstallAnyWhere open proejcts window. If we can clear all the projects that are registered with InstallAnyWhere could solve the issue.
