installanchorservice - why do we need to pass the app name?
Hi all…
As we understand it, on Mac / Unix platforms you install the Trusted Storage service via install_fnp.sh, and on Windows via installanchorservice.exe
However, it appears that installanchorservice requires an application name to "bless" -- and we're confused why that's required on Windows when it's not required on Mac / Unix?
Any insight on this would be appreciated.

The publisher name and product name are for reference counting, so the service can be uninstalled from a system when the last product that used the service is removed. I imagine this applies just to Windows because there's a standard install-uninstall process there (running some kind of installer and later uninstaller), unlike Mac and Linux, which don't have such a clear-cut uninstall step.
