Setting Basic authentication in IISS

Hi ,

I had installed the Update Service(self hosted) on Windows 2003 Server.

In IIS Manager, for the Website ISNOTF properties+Authentication Methods, I removed the check box "Enable anonymous access" and selected the check box "Basic Authentication (password is sent in clear text)"

When I run my application(which has COM agent mapped to Update Service), it checks for updates and prompts for the Username/Password. When I enter valid Username/password the updates are displayed/downloaded.

Instead of the User entering the Username/password, is it possible to include this information as part of the Installer or as part of my client application(C# .NET app).

I know about the UpdateService authentication mechanism, but our client wants the authentication in the above said process.

I would really appreciate if someone could help me as i got stuck with this.

Thanks,

I want to check/uncheck the "Enable Anonymous Access" checkbox inside the "Directory Security" tab in the Internet Information Service. How can I set it? Install Shield provide such functionality or not? Please let me know.
