I completed the patch build for a small patch which included one file to be overwritten. The file showed in the dos window that opens during the patch build. After the patch build was complete I moved the update.exe to the desktop of my test system that included the application. Ran the update.exe and it didn't change the effected program. What am I missing that needs to be including with the patch process that would change the effected program. Attached are the file that were generated by the build.
I received help from tech support on this and the problem was that the exe version number was the same as the one I was trying to replace. I had to go back to the VB development tools and change the "Make" of the new program so that the old programs version was different from the new. This fixed the problem.
Note..My next test patch was on swf flash files and just the fact that the binary was different make the update work. This version is only for exe.
