Cannot connect with VPN client running
It seems that when I use the Windows VPN client to connect to a network, the installed app that calls UpdateService fails. The update window comes up but reports that an internet connection cannot be found. I am calling AppUpdate().
After I disconnect the VPN, UpdateService works.
System info: Win2k Pro sp3, UpdateService SDK 1.2, ISX 4
-e

With VPN there are multiple issues that will affect your complete system. It is impossible for windows to have both an internet connection and an vpn connection. If you start IE with VPN activated, the internet connection will be done using the internet provider of the network you VPN on. I have many problems getting all software to work, because many things are shielded (liek some computer-names) and firewalls defined by my company. I did not notice problems with UpdateService, as the internet connection was rerouted via my workplace.
Because of the above problems, I only use Terminal Services.

humm....I use a VPN when I work from home. I have never encountered an issue with the Update Service. When you have the VPN connected, can you open an IE brower to the URL below?

I know when I do certain things from home I have to run a route.bat for certain network things.
It just puts certain ip addresses for certain connectors under a different network adapter and network stream.
Just a thought.
