  1. Problem with Flexera Agent Communication to Beacon

    Hi, good morning.

We are currently experiencing a communication issue between the Flexera agents and the Beacon. Although the agents are successfully collecting inventory data from the devices, the information is not being transmitted to the platform, preventing the inventory process from being completed.

The behavior observed indicates that local data collection is working as expected; however, communication with the Beacon is not being established. We have already performed several infrastructure and configuration validations without success so far.

Has anyone experienced a similar issue? Is there any additional configuration required on the agents to explicitly point them to the Beacon or associate them with it?

Any guidance or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you!

  2. How to block some Machines not to be scanned by ivanti aggregation when they have agents?

Hello. We've had about 50k machines coming from Ivanti aggregation.

We have installed SNOW agent on 30k of those machines.

Is there a way in Ivanti connector to block those 30k machines to enter the ivanti aggregation, leaving only the non-agent machines to be scanned (around 20k)?

    Goal: to reduce aggregation time.

    SLM on prem.

    Thank you

    Hello @Inverno

Good day! Hope you are well.

Looking at the SIM Ivanti Connector documentation, I don't see a way to exclude devices similar to what we have for example in the SIM Microsoft Intune Connector documentation where we can exclude devices.

I think, this will be a good enhancement to the SIM Ivanti Connector and if the community find it interesting and useful too who know this can be included as a new feature in the coming releases.

Give it a go and raise it as an Idea via the Snow Ideas Board, here's the KB article explaining more about it How To: Use the Snow Ideas Board to create, vote and discuss Snow product Ideas and enhancements

    Hope that helps.

    Kind regards,

  3. Besides marking an asset that has been disposed as Ignored in All inventory. Is the best practice to delete the device from All Inventory as we have the history of the device in All Assets? (this is for Desktop, Laptop, IPad/Tablets)

We are looking at cleaning up our All Inventory, and we are wondering if for devices that we know have been disposed and will never come back into the environment, should we delete them from All Inventory as we already have the history of the device in All Assets.

      @samccroskey

I think that some organizations' practice is to clean up inventory by deleting inventory after a pre-configured period of time, e.g. using Flexera One ITAM's built-on capabilities:

Obsolete InventoryOther organizations may leave the older inventory in there without bothering about it.

I would personally prefer to clean the older inventory that is considered redundant (noise) unless there's a business reason for keeping it... However, I would appreciate others to chime in with their experience and recommendations.

      Thanks,

      John Sorensen

  4. Exclude computer from Denylist

Hello Snowers. We have a shopfloor computer that has a "Denylisted" application installed, but in this case is needed for business (part of a supplier software bundle).

Is there any way to exclude a device from the Denylist without messing with the report criteria? Or maybe to exclude that particular installation?

    Thanks in advance.

  5. Hello, I have to archive 730 computers not scanned in last 1 year, is there any way to mass archive? I enabled the policy to auto archive computers in quarantined status for 30 days but it is applying to computers from policy enabled date, not legacy ones

    • Hi Suprit,

If you set your auto-filter in the "Last Scanned" (1) column and then select all (2), do you not see the "Archive computer" entry in the menu?

  6. Hi,

According to Snow Docs and Release notes that
Computers with status Inactive will now change to status Active when reporting inventory data again.

We experience that this is not the case. We have few PCs that have status Inactive when they are actually in use.

Have check if they have  Disable automatic quarantine management enabled, they are not.

Anything can be done here to put these PCs back to Active?

    Thanks

    • I've seen this on the latest version too. Inactive machines with active Q management enable stay as inactive even though they scanned yesterday.

You get also the nice Alert of 14 inactive computers have been inventoried during the last 30 days showing it's not working either.

  7. How does the integration between AD and Snow work?

I am pretty new to Snow. I have noticed that the Users report in Snow atlas is not discovering all the users and the data is being partial some times. like if there is name, machine name is missing and if there is machine name, user name is missing. What are the areas I need to look? also need any alternate solutions for this problem if there are any

    • Detlev Eufinger (Flexera Software)

      Hi RohanXSnow,

if you use our Snow Agent than all login Users on a computer will be collected

In addition you can configure AD Discovery in Snow Extender or Snow Integration Manager

  8. ARM64 Redist not available in InstallShield 2023

    Hi,

We have Licensed InstallShield 2023 Premier edition with support package.

We are trying to make an installer for ARM64 drivers installation. Just like we did for x64 machines.

As per Installshield, it seems ARM64 support was enabled long back.

But, It seems ARM64 Redistributable for InstallShield 2023 is missing in our installation.

In the installation directory "C:\Program Files (x86)\InstallShield\2023\Redist\0409", we see only "i64", "i386" & "x64". But, "ARM64" is missing.

In the IDE, to install drivers, Installshield uses "<ISProductFolder>\redist\0409\x64\Difxapp.dll". It is by default by InstallShield Framework to install drivers using the ProcessDriverPAckages function in the Difxapp.dll.

This Difxapp.dll file is packed in Installer default & process internally to install any drivers.

But, we see it missing in our installation.

Request you to provide support in this regard ASAP. It is blocking our releases to customers.

    Best Regards,

    P.V.Rajesh Kumar
