How To: Use the Snow Ideas Board to create, vote and discuss Snow product Ideas and enhancements
At Snow, we believe the voice of our customers and users are vital to improving our platform. The Snow Ideas Board enables you to send feedback directly to our product management team for consideration and prioritizing on our product roadmap. It is important that our innovation solves the problems you face on a daily basis, and the Ideas Board helps us further understand your needs and prioritize new functionality.
Here are a few tips on how to use the Ideas Board :
- Submit ideas one at a time. If you have more than one specific idea, please split them up. This will give us the opportunity to be transparent when determining and developing priorities. Dividing up your ideas will also increase clarity for other users as they engage with the idea.
- Supply as much detail as possible. The more information you can supply, the easier and quicker it is for us to understand and progress your suggestion. Information that would help us includes:
- The summary. A one sentence summary of the idea.
- The problem description. Describe the current situation that is causing the need for a product enhancement. If possible also include the current business impact and the persona(s) being impacted.
- A proposed solution. Describe the product enhancement that would resolve the problem.
- Attachments. Please attach any files that help to describe your request.
- Your feedback counts. You can vote, discuss and further refine all of the visible ideas. The number of votes will help indicate the priority of an idea, which means the more votes an idea gets the higher the likelihood of consideration for our future roadmap. Your comments will also provide valuable insight during our innovation process. Thank you for helping us help you!
- Add comments. If you would like to add some comments or ask questions about the Idea you are able to directly through the Ideas Board.
- Check the idea status. New ideas will be reviewed by Snow on a bi-weekly basis. We will check that they are valid new product suggestions and update the idea status as rejected or open for voting. Once new ideas have been reviewed, they will be visible for other people to vote and comment on. Please see the table below for a definition of each status:
|
 Status |
Definition |
|
Gathering Interest |
Good idea. Once it gains enough interest in terms of votes (encourage your colleagues to vote for it!) and positive comments from the Community, a product manager will review it to determine the next status. Note: After a year, an idea with minimal activity will be moved to either "Future Consideration" or "Unlikely to Implement." |
|
Needs Clarification |
We have requested more details from the owner of the idea. Note: If we do not get more information within six months, the idea will move to "Unlikely to Implement." |
|
Planned |
Excellent idea. There's a good chance we will include it in our roadmap. Thank you. (This is not a commitment.) |
|
Already Available |
The idea has already shipped or resolved (or a suitable workaround is in place). Details may be provided in the Community and comments may assist with locating relevant content such as knowledge base articles or documentation. |
|
Unlikely to Implement |
Unfortunately, we can't implement every good idea. Those not receiving enough votes, had no activity on their post within a year or don't align with our product direction enter this status. We appreciate your contribution to the Community.   |
|
Future Consideration |
Great idea, but it doesn't align with our roadmap in the next 12-24 months. Our product team will revisit it when they can better speak to the timeline for this idea. Ask the Community for their input. The number of votes the idea receives will be a big factor in whether the idea will be introduced in the future. Note: If there isn't enough interest after 24 months, the idea will move to "Unlikely to Implement." |
|
Delivered |
This idea was excellent and has now been made a reality - thank you. It is now available in the product. |
Finally, it is important to note that submitting an idea does not mean it will automatically get added to our roadmap. We will adopt ideas that will add the most benefit to the widest segments of the community. We are excited to see what you come up with. These suggestions will continue to help us innovate and add value to Snow solutions!
