The error usually occurs if there is already an instance of iKernel.exe running in memory.Resolution
1. Detect if a copy of iKernel.exe is running, if so end the task.
- Press Ctrl + Alt + Delete.
- Select Task Manager.
- Select the Processes tab.
- Look for IKernel.exe. If it is running, select it and click End Process.
- Select Yes to the Task Manager Warning dialog.
2. Delete the existing iKernel engine.
- Using Windows Explorer browse to C: \Program Files\Common Files\InstallShield\engine.
b. Right-click the highlighted engine directory and select Delete.
3. Install the latest version of the iKernel engine.
a. Download iKernel engine update and save it to your Desktop.
b. Double-click ikernelupdate.exe to install it.
