"Do you want to prompt users to enter their Company Name and User Name?"
In the Project Assistant(ISLESetup)/Installation Interview,there is a question asking "Do you want to prompt users to enter their Company Name and User Name?". I wonder where does the data(Company Name and User Name) go? Does it have a specific file name or directory where it is kept?
The User Name is stored in a property called USERNAME and the Company Name is stored in a property called COMPANYNAME. Once they are stored in their respective properties you can use that information in other places. I don't use that screen and have not for several years now. For us it is moot and not needed. I can't recall the last install that I ran where anyone prompted for that info, but it is sort of an outdated concept there days since installing a piece of software doesn't generally need some free-form text that the user types in. For one thing, how would you know that what they typed is correct or not? You can see how it would have limited use.
