not putting trash can back
Hey,
So I'm brand brand new with InstallShield. Only been using it for 2 days now. I actually replace the trash can with another file when installing. When it uninstalls the trash can image i put is removed and the original is not put back. Any ideas?

What type of project are you using? How are you replacing the file? File replacements typically aren't undone when the product is uninstalled, so this might require some custom work.

i'm using a basic msi project. i'm using an executable to replace the file. Actually the problem was that the execute sequence was wrong.
My new problem is it won't remove the recycle bin off the desktop!

the service controls the removal of the trash can. In the execute sequence the "install custom action" for the .dll was reversed with the "uninstall custom action".
it was deleting the drivers when installing and copying them onto the computer when uninstalling.
If running in the correct sequence, install then uninstall, the drivers will install, service will start and remove desktop trash can.
