escape characters

Our QA testers have pointed out that my multiplatform installer is displaying escape characters like
    text
instead of underlining the text.

Where do I start looking to debug this type of issue?

Where is this text being displayed? The first sanity check is to check the corresponding dialog box control (if that's where it appears) and make sure the Content Type property is set to HTML and not Plain Text...

Okay good to know. Thank You! That fixed up all of the text display issues but one.

The license agreement still displays some box-like characters which, I believe, means that the characters were unrecognized as ASCII or html. So I will re-edit the html file and save it as some simpler format.
