component installation on minor upgrade
Hello,
I am using an Installshield 2008 installscript msi project. In my project now we are release a minor upgrade.
Let say we have already released 3.2.1, now we are releasing 3.2.2.
Scenarios:
1.Install 3.2.100, it installs perfectly fine. Now upgrade it to 3.2.101 again it installs all of the components.
2. Install 3.2.200, it installs perfectly fine. Now upgrade it to 3.2.201 again it installs all of the components.
3. Scenario which is failing. Install 3.2.100, it installs perfectly fine. Now upgrade it to 3.2.200. Now some of our componente are not getting deployed.
Note: We have already selected "Always Overwrite" property of all of the files in our component.
Can anyone help me in knowing that what could be the reasons behind this behavior?

I got the issue....
Issue was coming because I have removed some component in the new version which is violating the rule for minor upgrade.
One can validate its upgrade thru upgrades view in Installshield 2008. It'll display all of the violation. Hope this will help.
