Visual Studio 2010 hangs when adding InstallScript Project to TFS source control
In Visual Studio 2010, whenever I try and add a new project (InstallShield 2012) to a solution under source control (Team Foundation Server) of type “InstallScript Project”, or “InstallScript MSI Project”, Visual Studio just stops responding and has to be closed. There are no useful errors in the error log that sheds light on it. I can create “Basic MSI” projects under source control fine. If I remove the source control bindings and try and create the project, it works fine. But, if I then try and add that existing InstallScript project to my source-controlled solution, it hangs again.
Googling around, my issue does seem similar to this topic, and also to this bug report which affected InstallShield 12, though the linked hot fix does not work with these versions.
My final spanner in the works is that I’m using Windows 8 release preview, though I can’t imagine this would have an effect.
Anyone had any similar problems and found a solution?

As I've been unable to resolve this, I'm now in the process of learning WiX. 😄
