Upgrading to 2011 and what happens to older projects, patches
We have recently posted an msi to our clients. This package was built using InstallShield 2010. We have recently upgraded to 2011, which I have not installed yet. Is there anything that would prevent me from upgrading that 2010 project to 2011 and then creating patches between the 2 - the posted msi and the new msi created with 2011?
Hopefully I have stated that logically. If not, please let me know where I can elaborate. Thanks.

Patching is a really finicky business, so we do tend to recommend sticking with the version of InstallShield that created your previous version when you want to create a patch (Major Upgrades are always fine; Minor Upgrades depend as they're somewhere between patches and Major Upgrades). We do what we can to allow using different versions of InstallShield, but actually doing so increases the complexity of an inherently complex operation.
