Uninstall

I have a retail install and then a patch that replaces the .exe of the application.

I am using an InstallScript MSI.

When I try to uinstall using the setup.exe from the retail install the application uninstalls as it should.

When I try to uninstall from Add/Remove programs the patch install attempts to re-run.

Anyone have an idea what I have done wrong???

Unfortunately, I am not certain how InstallScript MSI works.

Does it use the registry for its command line for its command line in HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\GUID\? I am thinking it does but I am not 100% sure of this Annetteqa, that is why I did not respond to your query yesterday.

Hopefully someone else here can help a little more.

What triggers the Add/Remove uninstall sequence in an InstallScript MSI?

That is exactly what I have been trying to figure out - what triggers the uninstall from the Add/Remove. The uninstall GUID appears to point back to the retail to uninstall - I'm searching the registry now trying to figure out what else could be triggering it.
