Uninstall from original installer does not remove everything
We have discovered a problem with one of our products, where if the user removes it through Add/Remove Programs it completes successfully, but if they run the original Installer exe and choose Remove, certain features are not uninstalled and thus the Add/Remove Programs entry persists. Removing this from within Add/Remove Programs successfully completes the uninstall.
From the install log I can see that the offending features are marked "Installed: Local; Request: Null; Action: Null", but I have been unable to find out why this is (and indeed why it only happens when removing using the original installer).
In time-honoured fashion, I have now discovered that the cause of this is some script that we run to force certain features to install, but should not be run in Maintenance mode.
