Uninstall Setting to Retain Speified Files

We have an application that uses a database firl that we would like to retain on the target machine after an uninstall.

What Installshield seting do I need to toggle to do this?

InstallScript project: set the Uninstall property of Component to No.
InstallScript MSI and Basic MSI project: set the Permanent property of Component to Yes.

I take it that I cannot make just a single file permanent but must mark the entire component as permanent?

Is there a way to just do it for a single file?
