Unable to uninstall - please help - its urgent
Hi,
I am unable to uninstall my application,
1. when i select to uninstall in ARP i am getting "Upgrade" message as:
"This setup will perform an upgrade of MyApplication'. Do you want to continue"
2. After the above screen 'Preparing to Install' screen will appear
3. Then i am getting a message for uninstall confirmation as:
"Do you want to completely remove the selected application and all of its feature"
4. But in the screen it is showing as 'copying new files', after some time it will throw '-1603' error and exists...
5. only some files are getting uninstalled
please can anyone help me to resolve this issue.....

Hi,
It seems it is going to Repair mode, it is installing some new files and after getting -1603 error it is 'Rolling Back' those files....
I want to know How to make my installer to call Uninstallation instead of Repair,
Anyhow my installer is having issue with 'Repair'....

This may be overkill, but to remove the app, you may be able to use msizap, which you can d/l from Microsoft.
...but I'm afraid I don't have much input as to what's causing your app not to uninstall.

Hi regexmaster,
Thanks for replay...... but msizap is an utility and it is not a redistributable, is it possible to do without any utility because those steps i have to release in a form of .bat or any other, so that my clients can remove the application

I've never had to use it, myself, but there ought to be some documentation included, or failing that, I'm sure a quick internet search for "msizap syntax" will turn up something useful.

Just saw your last post - It sounded at first as though you had two issues:
1) uninstall your app from a machine
2) fix what's causing it to go into repair mode in the first place.
msizap will help with 1, but I understand that #2 is what really needs to be addressed.
